It’s great. No doubt about it. It’s still lacking in some very basic features suck as proper masking and clipping masks but it’s pretty damned good, especially for the price. What I liked the most was the power consumption. Plenty of apps now have great pressure sensitivity and paint like blending but a lot lack the ability to do so without killing your iPad or phone after 10 mintues.
For me though Medibang Paint still has it beat in every aspect except one. The timelapse feature. I love how it similarly to OpenCavas only better and it doesn’t crash. The paint brushes are interesting and I like the simplicity of creating brush textures from photo’s.
Inking was also quiet nice but again I prefer Medibang Paint because of the highly customisable line correction. It helps since my hands shake and the iPad I am using is very sensitive and new. However the pen quality, customisation and pen choices were very nice and fun to use.
I enjoyed a lot of the more natural media brushes especially the ones with a thick oil paint like blending. All round it’s worth it but if you have an iPhone try pocket Procreate first incase it’s not for you.
It has a lot of potential but in it’ current state it has more than enough tools and options even for more advanced digital artists. It’s clean interface helps you keep focus on art and less distraction over what tools are available.
I really do like it and I’m curious to see where it will be in a years time of possible updates and user requests.
For now though I will likely stick to Medibang Paint and Clip Studio Paint
