Webcomic Idea

So for a while now I've been tossing an idea around in my head and I've decided to just dive in head first and go for it. But first I really should write it. Anyway here's a doodle of one such idea I have for the story. I might post more later. If I got through with the comic I'll post links. Drawn in sai. Also I discovered a nifty line smoothing feature in sai. It's called Stablizer. I turned it on and off throughout drawing this pic.

Original characters, Jaide and Arabella. Characters and art belong to me so please respect my work and do not use without my permission.

An alternative hair colour picture of Jaide. At first I had navy hair but then I wanted to see him with something blonde like. Then I tried brown and black and they all looked so nice with his skin tone and green eyes I decided that he can just dye his hair in the comic lol.
I'm not quite set on Arabella's eyes in front view just yet, she's still in the early stages of design but I'm getting somewhere at least.

This is one of the first drawings of Jaide and Arabella. First hair colour test for Jaide was done with this particular drawing. Drawn in Easy Paint Tool Sai.

Toon Boom Harmony Gradient Tool

In Toon Boom Harmony, how do you edit gradients? The second icon on the tool bar if you click and hold, the last tool option is the edit gradient tool. To enable a gradient, you need to first create or edit a swatch and click Gradient to enable it and then choose if you want linear or elliptical. The above video, though fast, shows this. Please do use the option to slow down the video if it's too fast. The edit gradient tool is really great and works best on vector layers. It has resize, rotate and skew and is also very easy to move about. As far as I know, even the gradient can be animated but I have not tried to do so since I don't often use gradients in my animations other than for a colour overlay effect over the entire animation. I, like many others, looked for this tool with the painting options and became quite frustrated. It took some getting used to but once you know where this tool is, it makes editing your work a lot easier. The edit gradient tool also e...

Coffee

I've been experimenting in TVPaint for a while now and I only just figured out how to get the gradient tool to work. I had a lot of fun making this. There have been countless times where I have wanted to animate my artworks to express more emotion or atmosphere and with TVPaint I feel that I can. Wonderful to work with and fabulous to paint in.
